Ella West's Visit

Hi guys, today we had a special visitor who came into our school, 7/8Al has been reading a book called Night Vision over the past weeks. They have been also blogging about their thoughts about the book, the special visitor was an author called Ella West. She is an Australian author who won the LIANZA Young Adult Award in 2015 with her book called Night Vision which is the book 7/8Al read. Ella West was born in Invercargill when she read through some of the children's book's she used her brother's book's and she began reading the Adult section's.

Together they went dairy farming on the banks of Buller River, it was between getting the cows milked, teaching drama and raised two sons. That's when she wrote her first young adult novel called (Theives, 2006). They now live near Dunedin and have a sheep and beef farm. She especially came to see that class about how hard they worked writing their own thoughts about the book.

7/8Al are happy to see her and they are probably right now asking her questions and showing her their blogpost's.It has made an impact in our community because it shows we have been sharing our learning with other people around the world and it turns into a special thing like reading a book about a specific author and then doing your thoughts about it. Then suddenly you realize that that author comes to see you at school. I think it made an impact.
