Sustainability Project

For a few weeks in Sustainability we had an assignment to make a project that most of us probably enjoyed alot, we had to make a game/app or a website that had to relate to Sustainability. I decided to make a game about it so people can actually physically play it and that it is fun and challenging for them. We did some brainstorming on a doc and planned it all out before making the project, I started on the project and worked my way through. I chose to go with sea pollution inspiration and tried my best to relate it to that specific topic.

I found Sustainability really enjoyable and thrilling because saving Earth is the upmost important thing at the moment since scarcity is becoming a big thing now and pollution. Currently we are doing the best to prevent the pollution happening but it will take more than an year for us to find the solution to this problem, we did a few more lessons on talking about social, economic sustainability. We also did maths a few weeks ago learning about statistics and calculating final results which helped us with sustainability. I am having a fun time in Sustainability class and I don't think I want to change anything. Hope you like the game and have a great day...😄👍

Making a Movie : Film Studies

 Last week we have been working on an awesome task, we had to make a movie about a topic that we can choose, our film should be at least no longer than 30 seconds, any music we will use has to be free so we don't get copyright causing a fine. The film has to include different camera angles/shots and the storyline should make sense to the viewers. 

We first chose to do a basketball type film, this will be a plot where in basketball two competitors will challenge. We kept it simple since we have to do a 30sec movie, there were four members in my team, Myself, Eugene, Gerald, and Jay-c. After choosing our topic we had to make a storyboard that will show our plot for the film. 

Afterwards we started recording and following that we finished the recording, right after we started editing the video clips on my mobile. It didn't take too long to edit the whole video, I tried my best to make it 30secs but was 1secs longer. We didn't accomplish the 30secs film but I think we did quite well with the movie itself, my two teammates were a bit annoying and off-task so I had to improvise and change the plot a little and it turned out well.

Something I enjoyed in making my film...?

What I enjoyed most was recording with camera angles and shots included within, it made the movie more interesting and I loved editing.

Something I learned when making my film...?

I didn't learn much while making the film because most stuff was pretty basic but I did learn a few camera angles and shots that made the movie better.

Some film techniques I included were...?

Close up, Point of View, Long shot, Over the Shoulder and Medium Shot.

Something I found challenging was...?

To be honest I didn't have any problems or anything challenging so I found it pretty easy and fun.

What I would do differently next time...?

The result probably wasn't my best so maybe next time I should add more effects and sound to give it more power.

On 26th July we were given a task to earn a Certificate on code.org, I chose to do a minecraft task. There was a few challenges but I got through it fast and earned it, here is my certificate from code.org...

Ergonomics

Around July we also did Ergonomics, we were given a task to make a infographic related to Ergonomics. We first had to learn the basics of Ergonomics, afterwards we were given options on what platform to make our infographic on. There were Canva, Venngage and Piktochart, these were options if incase no one knows a website, I went with Piktochart and started my Ergonomics, I kept it simple and wrote down the common things. 

Summary:

So far it has been enjoyable in Digital Technology, we learnt so many things about Design Process, we have done code.org and earned my certificate from coding on that app by doing fun challenges and task. This includes making an infographic about Ergonomics, out of all of those things I found code.org most thrilling since it did include variety of activities by coding. Than there will be the Posters and infographic which I liked but not alot, but yet I learned alot from it and this will help in future with my coding whether i'm making an app, game or a website.

Steve Jobs

Last week in Business Studies I finished a research that we had been working on for a few days. We had to choose one entrepreneur to research about, I chose Steve Jobs because he is the founder for Apple. Afterwards, we had to then write three questions about our chosen person and it had to be effective on our research in order to begin.

Questions I chose to focus on:

• What was his purpose?
• What challenges has he faced?
• How did he invent "Apple"?

Hour of Code - Digital Technology

On 26 July for Digital Technology we had to do an activity to get a certificate on 'Hour of Code' on code.org. We were told by our teacher, Mr Carter to do an activity on the website and earn it by going through a few challenges and coding. It was pretty basic coding so I got through it fast. I did learn a few new coding skill son my way earning this Certificate, this new coding is now helpful for me to use either of i'm making a game, an app or just a website.

Ergonomics - Digital Technology

Last week for Digital Technology we have been learning about Ergonomics and the basics of the meaning of it, we have been given an activity to make an "Ergonomics Infographic". We were given options to either use Canva, Piktochart or Venngage to make our Infographic. We need to find a Infographic online and take a few ideas on how to make our own, here is the infographic that I created.

Industrial Waste

Introduction

The topic I have chosen is called Industrial Waste, this topic is related to sustainability
because it affects animals, habitats in a way that can either destroy their home or make the
animals itself move closer to extinction.

Describe

Industrial Waste is waste produced by human activities, waste is generated by
manufacturing factories that include chemicals, oil, weed grass, garbage and. Most
industrial processes contain huge amount of water and is used to come in contact with
other harmful chemicals, it takes a heavy effect of the environment because most of the
waste ends up in oceans, lakes or rivers.

Impact

Water that is released from factories can pollute rivers and lakes with the substances
that are within the water like chemicals, waste, oil and other related toxic substances
that can kill sea/wildlife and the nationwide ecosystem leaving a lot of animals endangered.
Factories and other types of power plants are mostly located near water like river, ocean and
lakes due to the fact that they need water for the manufacturing process or for cooling any
type of equipment. Factories do not have the technology to have less effect on the environment.
This causes the polluted water to be released into the marine ecosystem affecting the marine
environment and all life that lives there. 

Those who depend on water or a clean drinking water source will need it the most, without
the clean water the bacteria and all types of toxic chemicals and substance will affect us
and could put a person in great danger with their health and good diet. 

Solution

Transfiguring waste into new items and products which then prevents waste scrapping.
Visibly the landfill tactic of distribution has numerous extension. Landfills are likely to
cause water and land pollution in hatred of maximum care grab. Reuse and recycling
are the most common methods to help reduce landfill waste, other methods to
reducing landfills waste is by either donating used products to the poor and this helps
a lot, the reason is that clothing is thrown away is one of the colossal benefactions we
make to landfills today and reducing food waste.

Food is also another type of product that we throw away in a large mass, believe it or not,
each year in a very large percentage the food we purchase is carelessly thrown away and
is left uneaten.

Conclusion

My conclusion is that Industrial waste is a bad thing, it has a HUGE impact on Earth and
the environment. It affects most habitats that contain life living there. It spread so fast that
trash fills and covers some part of the sea/ocean like a virus that keeps bigger and bigger
just by passing it on to others by interacting. It has to be reduced because all marine life could
fall to extinction leaving no fish to eat or the predators in the sea to eat anything.

Mix and Match Entrepreneurs

On Friday in Business Studies, I learnt about entrepreneurs. We had been given an activity we had to complete that was about entrepreneurs practical skills. Then afterwards we had been given a "Mix and Match" activity about 20 entrepreneurs that were from this part of the land or either worldwide and how they put in for their popularity.
