Hurumanu-Filtration Experiment

Aim: To make a filtration plant using household materials.

Water Filtration Plant

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass. 

Examples are:

1.  Oil Filters in Cars
2.  Pool Filters
3.  Water Filters in Water Taps
4.  Dirty Clothes/Washing machine

Materials

1. Funnel

2. Container

3. Filter Paper

4. Sand

5. Pebbles

6. Dirty Water

7. Cup

8. Scizzors

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

Cut the bottle in half and the top half of bottle is now a funnel and bottom half is beaker/cup.

Step 2

As you put the funnel on top of the container, add the layers in order, so first add filter paper. Add sand then pebbles.

STEP 3

Get 1 cup of dirty water

STEP 4

Pour dirty water into the funnel slowly and theres a chance you might get clean water at the bottom of the container.

Conclusion:

The water looks non-drinkable and not even safe to drink but it made a difference soon as I added another filter paper on top and turned out clear and that was a good experience for me. It was a fun activity for me and I enjoyed it so much. I recommend you guys trying this experiment out yourself.
