This is me!

Namaste, My name is Ranit and I am a year 7 student in HHS. I am from Fiji, I am 12 years old and have a little brother. I'm good at maths and reading and my dream is to be a scientist, famous football player or a famous youtuber. I like to run alot also ride my bike around the park.

I like this school because it has so many fun stuff to do like gaming's, science stuff and etc. I am looking forward to learn cool new stuff about things, my teacher Miss Alan is the best and teaches us cool stuff and that's what I like about her. Since we came to this school, our new building was nearly finished and I was excited. 

Since the new building is finished everyone is enjoying it but the construction people are not yet finished with the landscape. I am looking forward to seeing it finished and I think I am gonna have a blast this year. That's all about me and the school, Bye.

Te whare tapa wha

This week we have been doing about Te whare tapa wha, if you don't know what it means well I will tell you now, so an actual house has four side. Te whare tapa wha is a house that has four sides too, but not an actual house. so the four sides are called Taha Wairu, Taha hinengaro, Taha whanau and Taha Tinana.

Sherbet Making.

Making Sherbet

Sherbet Recipe

1 tsp of powdered drink crystals

1/4 tsp citric acid
1/4 tsp tartaric acid
1/4 tsp -baking soda.

Taste in mouth/Tongue:

Sweet, Sour, Bitter and Fizzy

Caused by Baking Soda, Acid and tartaric acid

Taste: Sweet, Sour and Bitter

Caused by Tartaric acid and citric acid

OK now lets talk about what we are doing, today in science lab we were making sherbets with Mr. Palmer(Our science teacher).  We have been busy during our experiment/making sherbet and we are testing what it taste like. So we put these ingredients in a plastic zip bag, those ingredients are above, I enjoyed it but I did not enjoy tasting it, it tasted bitter, sour, soapy and etc. I have a picture of my sherbet in a plastic zip , try it home and I hope you like it, Also have a great weekend😎👍.

Bunsen Burner Testing

Today we are working on testing the Bunsen burner which looks like a chimney but it looks like the one that's at the centre have a look. Oh its a science tool that we melt and burn things and we are in the lab doing it so this is what we are doing. Hope you like my work and have a great holiday😊✊.

 Aim: learn about the safe use of a Bunsen Burner and get a Bunsen Burner Licence.

Equipment:

1. Bunsen Burner
2. Bunsen Burner sheet The Bunsen Burner

Method:

1. In threes you need to set up a bunsen burner.
2. You must have turns while the others check to see you are correct.
3. Work your way through the sheet together checking off the tick

Complete the checklist with someone else.

What are the 6 parts of a Bunsen Burner? Collar, Barrel, Air hole, Gas pipe and the Base.

Which flame is the hottest and why? Blue-Its got less oxygen and the range flame has more oxygen.

- Cause soot to form?Orange

What is the correct order?Blue

1. Turn on the gas
2. light the Bunsen
3. Close the Airhole
4. Light the match

House Poster

Last two or three weeks and this week as well we have been finding out what our house names mean, we found out that our house names are named after people who played sports like our team name Shelford, his full name Adrian Termain Shelford was a rugby league player and played for his country, I made a poster on digital and I am happy to share it with you hope you like it and have a great holiday😎👌.

FINALLY THE BAG IS FINISHED!!!

This day is our last day finishing everything we haven't finished this term in soft materials with Miss Laycock, our Soft material teacher. She worked hard helping us and I want to thank her for all her hard work today and the other Wednesdays. I also finished my bag and I am very proud of it. Street Art Mega Fun

Last two weeks and this week we have been working on our own Street Art that represents us or our whole family, I made my flag with a different colourful colours, I worked hard and took my time and I finally finished it. It was fun doing it and it was a blast. I am very proud of it and I am happy to share it with you, I hope you like it and have a great day😎👍 .
